As Springtime arrives in the Mountain State and we enjoy the renewal of flowers and trees after months of Winter, I have worked on a special project that provides a different type of renewal.

Andy Richardson Group blog

My partner Dennis Harmison and I have created a publishing company, https://storyfinderspublishingwv.com/.

And - our first book has been released. More on that in a moment, but - first - a little background.

In the 2024 Holiday Season, I wanted to purchase a Children’s Book about Charleston for my grandchildren, Cory and Carmen. However, other than reference in statewide Children’s Books, there was none focused on Charleston.

Over coffee that Holiday Season, my friend Emma Carpenter and I decided to write one! Emma recruited an exceptional Illustrator, Marisa Jackson.

We proceeded forth, choosing my grandchildren as the principal characters. They solve 10 clues, see numerous other sights, and win a prize at the end of the story.

Over 20 locations are portrayed throughout the story.

This book presents a fun way for children or visitors to learn of some of Charleston’s iconic locations.

“Our Charlie West Treasure Hunt” debuted Saturday, April 4 at the Kanawha County Public Library before an overflow crowd. A reading for children was presented, refreshments were served, and books were signed.

Community is important. Each community - each neighborhood, indeed each family - has a special story.

Now my hometown has its own Children’s Book. If you would like one, they are available at many local bookstores, and soon on our website.

Or…call me; I can help.
