In my home office, there are several pictures of sports stars. The baseball pictures are quite prominently displayed, and each player shown represents a particular value.

Cal Ripken - certainly represents a commitment to a work ethic. His record for consecutive games played is a testament to the value of “being there.”

 

Micky Mantle - this player demonstrated great batting power and skill, and played an entire career despite a knee injury in his earliest days in the major league. From either side of the plate, his power hitting was a threat to impact the game.

 

Bob Gibson - this pitcher represents precision and intellect. His skills allowed him to pitch and win 3 complete games in a World Series.

 

Roberto Clemente - a multi-talented player, his calm excellence and commitment to serving others makes him my all-time favorite player.

 

Work ethic, effective use of power and skill, precision, intellect, calm excellence, service to others - when I look at these pictures with these attributes in mind, it reminds me that we embrace these values at Andy Richardson Group.
