It is also the Annual Enrollment Period October 15 through December 7 for Medicare Supplements and Advantage Plans…and the 3rd week of October is the Annual Estate Planning Week recognized by Congress beginning in 2008.

So…whether, with me or another person you trust, please take time this autumn to get your late-life planning in order.

 

• Have a competent lawyer review your Estate Plan. Ensure you have Powers Of Attorney, a Will, and related documents if appropriate.

 

• If you are Medicare-eligible, or your parents are Medicare-eligible, ALWAYS do a review of your Supplement program or Medicare Advantage program.

 

• Consider Long-Term Care Insurance to cover skilled nursing care that may fall through the cracks of Medicare.
